Derrick Rose’s groin injury has held him out of three games and will likely cause him to stay on the bench as the Bulls face the Orlando Magic on Monday night.
“I really don’t know,” Derrick said about a timetable for returning to the court. “They haven’t gave me a time. They say with an injury like this you really don’t know how long it’s going to take.
“Where I thought I was going to be back sooner, missing big games that I would hate to miss like the one tonight, but I got to worry about my health.”
Derrick’s groin still is tight and causing him discomfort.
“It’s definitely been frustrating,” Rose said. “It’s the most I’ve ever been injured, ever, in my life.
“The biggest thing is just staying strong mentally. Where missing these games, we’re playing good right now, [it’s] definitely hurting me, but [I’m] keeping a positive attitude.”
Despite his frustrations, the injury appears to be on the mend.
“I’m feeling good where my groin is getting better,” he said. “Just trying to stay positive, man, keep a clear head mentally thinking that God does everything for a reason.
“Otherwise, I’m feeling good, my health is OK. I’m not sick or anything, it’s just my groin.”
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau wouldn’t provide a timetable on Derrick’s return either.
“It could be a few days, it could be who knows?” he said. “Each day we just want him to make progress. When he’s healthy, he’s healthy. We don’t want him to … we’re not going to rush him back. We want him to be completely healthy. We think that’s important.”
Rose said the injury happened in the Bulls’ March 12th win over the New York Knicks.
“After the game I remember walking back to the locker room and I told the trainers immediately that I wasn’t feeling right, where my leg was really messed up,” Rose said. “They looked at it and saw what it was and I had to go get treatment and everything the next day.”

Hi Derrick, by the way im from asian country Philippines. YOu know IM a very very very big fan of #1 Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose. I started liking you when you faced people w/ all Ur humbleness. I really like the way you are,not just in playing with a breath taking moves but as well as being humble & kind in people in your lowest position like us, & the most of all is being close to God. Aside from being famous, still you don’t forget to acknowlegde teh ONe who is upside & i really like you for that. Actually I hate tattoos but when I saw yours a Lil bit understanding flashed on me. I’m really hoping that u can give even a little attention in my short comment. GOD bless U more together with ur team & hope we can see you in finals tru the television. Thank you & GOD bless! i love you all
Andrea C | on 13/4/12

Thursday, 2012-04-12. Bulls 96 Heat 86. Bulls won this round. Love da Bulls. Love the team & its superstar. Gotta say something though. Before his groin injury, DRose was playing great. Funtastic to watch. However, I remember him getting ticked at Indiana for celebrating when they beat the Bulls and then DRose acting similar to Indiana on someone else’s court. Also, his attitude this year has seemed to be a little more like Allen Iverson’s than MJ’s or Scottie Pippen’s. For all the talent in the world, AI never won a championship. I remember once when MJ came back from an injury & was playing against Sacramento Kings before 1989. I believe MJ played point guard that game. He only scored 19 points & it was the only game of his I watched live. He had the ball stripped from him by a sneaky & quick Spud Webb but did not let it get to him. He airballed a 3 pointer, and the crowd “ohhhddd” in disapproval, but he laughed & then shrugged his shoulders at the crowd and the crowd changed its disapproval & started laughing with him. He had learned to laugh at himself & lean on his teammates (a young Scottie Pippen & young Horace Grant, as well as Craig Hodges) & knew something about his own limitations. Even though he was coming back from injury, and I think Mitch Richmond scored more than he that game, he still was “better” than the rest & scored a “measley” 19 points. But the Bulls won & that man made a lasting impression on me. DRose needs to chill out a little and play—controlling his emotions at times, expressing them at other times—but we can do without the braggadoccio (I think that is how you spell it). That is the only way the Bulls of this era will take it to the next level. I say this with love & respect. Somebody give this message to DRose please. How did Dallas win it all last year (beating a Miami team that was peaking)? Not with superior talent. Even their owner humbled out a little & won his first ring.
