Rose named CDW/HP Supplies Player of the Month

Derrick Rose has been named the Bulls CDW/HP Supplies Player of the Month for December. This marks the second time in his career that Rose has claimed CDW/HP Supplies Player of the Month honors. He also won the award in November 2008.

In 15 December games, Rose (6-3, 190 pounds) started every game (the Bulls went 7-8) and he averaged a team-best 20.4 ppg, 6.1 apg and 3.8 rpg in 37.1 mpg. He shot .450 percent from the field and .764 percent from the line. Rose led the team in scoring eight times, and scored 20 or more points seven times, highlighted by a career-high 32 point performance versus Atlanta on Dec. 19.

On the year, Rose leads the Bulls in scoring (18.0 ppg) and assists (5.6 apg – 15th in the NBA), and owns averages of 3.4 rpg, 0.77 spg and 36.0 mpg. He is shooting .455 from the field and .786 from the charity stripe.

  • On Dec. 8, in Chicago’s 103-101 loss to New Jersey, Rose posted his second double-double of the season with 27 points (13-23 FG), 10 assists and seven rebounds in 42:15 minutes of action.
  • In Chicago’s 101-98 (OT) victory against Atlanta on Dec. 19, Rose scored a career-high 32 points to go along with his six assists and four rebounds in 42:44 of play.
  • At New York on Dec. 22, he tallied a game-high 26 points (11-21 FG), six rebounds and four assists in 34:38.
  • In the Bulls’ 104-95 win over Indiana on Dec. 29, Rose scored a game-high 28 points (11-20 FG), dished out six assists and grabbed five rebounds in 41:13.
  • In Chicago’s 98-87 win over Detroit on Dec. 31, Rose posted a team-high 22 points, four assists and four rebounds in 40:05 minutes.
